I finally finished the pineapple applique quilt top today!
It finished at 86″ square. Now to plan the quilting.
This top started as someone elses UFO that I bought from eBay
If you want to see the progress of the top from start to finish see the following posts

So how to quilt it? My thought is that I want to do echo quilting. here is an antique pineapple block with echo quilting
I like the idea of echo quilting because I can do it with no marking! I’m pretty good at eyeballing this kind of quilting.
First I need to purchase the backing fabric. I think I will head to the store today.
Green? Yellow? White? Print? Solid? I will let you know what I find.
Happy Quilting!
Tim

Congratulation on the finish. It is fabulous. Have you thought of a little trapunto? Maybe in the leaves. Or the pineapple.
Hi Lynn
Glad you like it…and to be honest I thought about trapunto in the pineapples but I think I talked myself out of it. Have you done trapunto before? I have not and I think I’m a bit afraid to try it on this top because I dont want to mess it up.
Tim
The quilt looks fantastic. Echo quilting will take quite awhile, but I think it’s a good choice. And you love hand quilting, so it’s perfect!
Thanks Caron
I do think it will take a while. I have had the top done since Saturday and today (Sunday) I can hardly wait to start work on the quilting! I wish it would layer and baste itself so I could get right to work!!
Wow! Very nice Tim!! I look forward to seeing what backing you will choose. I like the idea of echo quilting too.
Thanks Lori
I will have some pictures to post next week after I get started
