Blue and White Hunter’s Star quilt top

I love 2 color quilts.  recently I purchased top in the hunter’s star pattern

This one is not an antique but it does have an antique look (at least to me)  It is machine stitched and all the point line up pretty well.  It could be a little flatter but I can “quilt out” the unevenness on this one because it is not bad.

I bought this one because I love the pattern

I always try to see how the pattern comes together by looking at it in smaller and smaller parts

Another fun top to add to the stack of some day projects.

Happy Quilting

Tim

This one is absolutely STUNNING. I have a weakness for blue and white quilts. Gorgeous.

Can’t wait to see it quilted!

I agree–this is stunning! Another quilt I’d love to make someday. (That makes a bazillion.)

That is a stunning quilt. There is such a wonderful timeless elegance to blue and white quilts and that one is a fabulous example. A Hunter’s Star is on the list of quilts I want to eventually make.

Curious as to when and how you started buying and hand quilting antique quilt tops? How many have you hand quilted? Do you have them displayed in your home? Have to admit since I have been reading your blog you have me considering doing this as well. I have always wanted to buy an antique quilt top and quilt it.
    just haven’t done it yet!
This quilt is going to be amazing hand quilted by you

I think it has been about 7 years since the first one. It was a double wedding ring. It was reduced for fast sale at then end of the day at a fle market and I couldn’t pass it up…after that the buying began….if you want to see all the quilts I have done I have pictures in …the quilt gallery…see the side bar to the right….i think its about 20 I have done so far. It is so fun to fix up thoe old treasures!! you should try it

I would love to hear from you!
