Quilt Gallery

Here are some my finished quilts.  I have a big pile of quilts waiting to add to the gallery, as soon as I can stop quilting long enough I will get them posted. I don’t have pictures of the few that were machine quilted or that were made by commission.  I will add more as I finish more. (click pictures to enlarge)

The quilt of the bare branches and tree trunks is still my favourite. Thanks for sharing these!

    • timquilts says:

it is still my favorite too!…but all are different and that is my goal….no 2 alike

Hi, I was looking for some fan quilt images and I just found your site. I really like a lot of your quilts…the colours are really nice and the texture you put into them looks great…probably feels good too. I like quilts to look not only beautiful but that you could just curl up in them and …they will cope if your dog joins you. I am planning to start my own blog soon so I will add you to my list of lovely sites. Cheers

Thanks!!….I hope to see you blog soon….I enjoy seeing as many different quilts and quilters as I can!! I also love the opportunity to see how quilting differs across the globe

  2. WOW! Tim, I really like the embroidered birds on the batiks! Guess I’m going to have to put that one on my bucket list!

    • timquilts says:

      Thanks Karen
      That was my first quilt
I hated it until I hand quilted it…at first it was just machine quilted between the squares …but now I love it

Just came across your site. Wonderful!!!! I make tops, and sometimes into quilts, but mostly for the arts sake. Scraps and old patterns are my things. Love your old quilts. Snagged some ideas to play with.
You are in my ‘favorites’ !
    Ginny

Wow, Tim! Beautiful quilting! Love those vintage and scrappy quilts especially the Pineapple applique and the pickle dish like ones. (Wish your photos had labels like the quilts-so I could call them by their ‘names’, haha. Cheers, Cathy

    • timquilts says:

Thanks!…I guess I do need to name my quilts….I just can never think of a name that fits

      • sandy says:

Hi, Tim we have in our possession a big usa hand quilted flag with pole that was found in a lansing home. it has 50 stars. have you ever heard where this may have originated?

      • timquilts says:

wow that is a new one on me…I cant imagine where that might have come from or what it was used for. Perhaps the Lansing Historical society might be able to help?

  5. Kristen says:

Hey, the Gallery needs to be updated with your recent quilts — I keep referring amateur sellers that I infect with the quilt bug to this page, and I want them to experience the proper shock and awe.

  6. sandy says:

    thanks will try them

  7. Kristen says:

Hey! Where are the “new” ones?!

  8. Rose Sheifer says:

How do you find the time for the hand quilting? It is beautiful. I make quilts from vintage tablecloths…but I hire someone to finish them. Just published my first book called Vintage Tablecloth Quilts with C&T Publishing.

    • timquilts says:

I find hand quilting so relaxing….I never sit and watch tv….I quilt with the tv on…..I dont feel right if I dont get at least a few hours of quilting a day
your book sounds great!…..I thought using a table cloth was a good way to make a fast quilt….I guess I am not the only one

  9. Judy says:

Have joined this blog because of your hand quilting Tim, I also think it’s so relaxing and do it with the TV on, however often midd out on who killed who on “Midsomer Murders” ! Not to worry as they always come back on repeats.
Your quilting is lovely. I am needing to cut back a bit due to RSI so alternate my quilting days with Needle turn appliqué days. :)

Someone provided link from the QB. Love, love, love every one of your quilts. Nancy (Wisconsin)

  11. Adrienne says:

Your work is beautiful. Where would I find a vintage Christmas tablecloth to quilt for future family gatherings?

  12. Patricia Spears says:

    Absolutely beautiful work! Very inspiring!!

  13. Sara says:

I still think you just need to do some drawings to win your quilts so you have more room to buy others….just a thought….

  14. adaisygarden says:

Wow! Love so many of them!! I just love the 1935 signature, too! They are all beautiful and so different from one another. You have made quite a collection!

  15. F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S! Always amazed at the quantity and especially the QUALITY of your quilting. But my absolute favourites are the white on white Trees and Feather quilts.

  16. Trina Schellhammer says:

I’d love to know, how do you display all these wonderful quilts?

    • timquilts says:

LOL….I don’t display many of them….have one on each bed, one hanging…..I have a quilt rack with a few on ….mostly they are hidden
they are layered on the spare bed…one on top of the next…which I think is better than folding them all

  17. Pam Gardner says:

I just joined your site. Your quilting is exquisite. I am esp. fond of the quilts that contain what looks like a peachy orange on the web anyway. They are all beauties.

  18. Sandy Kerr says:

Tim – Sandy Kerr here. My friend Claudia has some old quilt pieces or partial quilt tops that are 1. in need of repair, 2, not all there, or 3. no matching material to work with. If I send you some pictures, can you give her some suggestions. She has been trying to repair them where she can, and I sugested to add some “vintage” fabric to fill in the bad spots. I can get you her e-mail if being in touch with here directly would be better, or I can be the go-between. Just let me know.

  19. Gloria Ochoa says:

Hi Tim, I found your quilts as I was trying to get an idea what design to use on quilting my 9 patch quilt. Wow! you have some awsome quilts and I’m glad I am not the only one that still hand quilts. I will look no further. Love your work!
