I am in a mad dash to finish my stripey vintage quilt. I hope to have pictures of the completed quilt tomorrow.
Meanwhile I got backing and batting for the log cabin variation that I re-pieced.
Paisley for the backing and black binding.
I think the backing fabric goes great with the top, and it is a wide (108″) fabric so I wont need any seams.
I also bought the batting.
I love wool! it quilts so easily.
I’m back to work on that quilt…check back tomorrow for the finished product.
Happy Quilting
Tim
Holding my breath… can’t wait to see the stripey quilt finished! And great job on choosing that paisley… looks like a fine match.
I have to finish it now because I wrote that I would…that makes me work harder when I have a deadline
love that paisley! where did you find it in wide backs
I got that one on sale from Hancocks of Paducah. I ordered it on-line, now that I see it I think I should have got enough for at least one more…its great
Good choice using the paisley fabric! And WOOL! I quilted a customer quilt with wool and that was Heaven to work with and they are warm in the winter and cool in the summer! I have a wool batt just like that waiting to use in one of my own quilts if I ever get one done around here!
wool is a bit more expensive but I think it is worth it!…for all the reasons you said
Love that fabric!!! And I haven’t used wool yet; thanks for the encouragement! I’ll have to try that soon. Also want to know how you liked using Quilter’s Dream…
It is great fabric, it also comes in a few other colors so I might get some more. I love wool, quilts like butter, but it does have more loft so the look is a bit different than the very thin cotton. The quilters dream is so thin that I feel like there is no batting at all…easy to quilt but I prefer more loft…I think the quilting shows better when the batting is thicker
