Another Vintage Quilt Top

Sometimes I see a quilt top for sale and I don’t know what it is that draws me to it but I just have to have it.  This was one of those tops. I paid $45 for it, and that is 2 times what I would normally do, but It just said buy me.

The fabric is very sheer…In a few of the pictures I put my hand behind the top and you can see my hand showing through.   Since it is such sheer fabric I am thinking it is going to become a summer quilt.  I will use a very thin batting, and an all over hand quilting design…like a simple Grid, or Baptist fan.
Here are pictures of the fabrics (click to enlarge)

Happy Quilting

Ahh, come on, they all say “Buy ME” you just felt sorry for this one and now it is in a happy place!

I am ways fascinated by old quilts that were never finished. I can’t help but wonder who it was that spent so much time on it and why it was never finished. Thank you for sharing! Leilani

  3. Great find! Some of the fabrics look like cotton voile, so a summer quilt is really appropriate, since it could be made from leftovers of summer dresses … =D

After doing a search on finishing a very thin quilt top, I found you here! You may have seen it – the blue, yellow and white log cabin on eb*y, just made an offer and it’s coming my way. Summer quilt, it is! 🙂
