I am teaching a floral design class this evening and I cut some flowers from the garden to use.

What are the pink spiky flowers in the third picture? I bet your plants love to live in your garden!

I just spent the last 2 days gardening-finally humidity is low- we can “expect” 2 more days of this before the real heat and high humidity return……ugh!
I like the pink monarda better myself-most of my red has been transplanted with more to dig up and replant-it grows like weed and has taken over my garden!

Your roses still look lovely. Here in NY it rained buckets for days just when they began to peak, the humidity remained and they became a wet mildewy mess. Then what blossoms that followed are now subject to japenese beetles. How do you keep yours so nice?

it is a challenge ….and the rain and humidity are beginning to bring on mildew and black spot here as well….I spray them with ortho rose pride…but I should have done more, but hard to find a day when I have time to spray and it is not raining
