Red White and Blue

I got another antique quilt top yesterday.  Red white and blue triangles and hexagons.

It has a nice variety of red and blue fabric and shirting fabric.  (click pictures to enlarge)

It is interesting that when I look at the top I see it as triangles, but it is made up of red and white and blue and white hexagons set with white hexagons.

I got all the feathers done on the red thread whole cloth…lots of filling to go…

I love the old quilt top–what era do you think it’s from? The whole cloth quilt is absolutely inspirational!

The whole cloth looks pink with that red quilting. Very pretty!

Love the triangle/hexagon quilt. I’ve always loved this pattern…the whole cloth quilt is amazing. Pray tell, what happens when you’re finished with it?

Ooooh, oooh, you can guess that I would love this one. Lovely visual effect, both simple and complicated, refocus the scale with your eyes for that old geometric 3D effect. Love it.
