All your quilting is ever so lovely. I especially admire how well you quilt on a treadle machine. I have two and can hardly sew on them.

  2. joandstella says:

Teddy’s quilt is just excellent! It would win prizes in a show and I hope you enter it at a good one.
    cheers, Jo and Stella

I love the sheen of the dupion silk, and the way you’ve used dense quilting to create a ‘picture frame’ around Teddy. It really looks like gilding. Lovely job.

    • timquilts says:

thanks! I bought that silk at an AQS show this summer, I had the quilt started for about a year but decided that It needed a frame, so my mission at the show was to go to every vendor that had fabric and find the right thing and the silk was just right ( but cost about 60 dollars for what I used)

Love the Teddy quilt. But the Blue Rose really caught my eye. Thank you for the binding tips, one of my downfalls.

  16. Nancy says:

Wow! That is absolutely beautiful! Do you have any idea how much Teddy is loved because of your quilting? Possibly more now! You are an inspiration to us all! Thanks for sharing!!!

  17. I had to show the photos to my husband this morning! Not many quilts get a “Wow!” out of him, but the Teddy quilt sure did 🙂 We had been talking about the definition of “art” when I opened up your post, so it gave me a perfect example to share.

  18. ellennorman says:

    So beautiful!

  19. Kristen says:

Oh Tim, Andrew and I LOVE this. The first thought that came to mind was that you have to enter it in some shows, in terms of creativity and execution it will just blow everyone else away, but then, looking at these posts, I see that my mind was not the first to get three. Wow, just magnificent.

    • timquilts says:

🙂 I have to look into which show it will fit into…..they have size requirements for the various categories , and I think I made this one too large for some and too small for others…will see if I can fit it into one

Binding tutorial is great. I notice that you have a vintage iron–the same one I’m still using that was my mother’s. She must have bought it in the late 60’s, early 70’s. Both quilts are beautiful and inspiring.

  21. I have been quilting for years and you have taught this old gal a nice secret to that corner binding stop. Duh !@#, why didn’t I think of the crease to use as a stoping point? I have been just winging it all these years. Thank You for what you do! And that pooch quilt is spectacular on so many levels!

  22. Marilyn M. Liebert says:

He is adorable. Your quilting brings such depth to the border/frame of the quilt. Beautiful!

Teddy Quilt captures all the fun and mischief the “human” Teddy embodies from his view on the world, through those beautiful eyes. Sharron

Teddies eyes are a masterpiece of realism! Your quilting is incredible too of course, but I can’t take my eyes of those eyes : ).

The ‘Teddy Quilt’ is so awesome, as is the rose quilt and every other project you do! Teddy should definitely be allowed to attend whatever quilt show you can get it into. BTW – it’s good to have you back posting.

Hello Tim, the quilting on the border of your Teddy quilt is fantastic, really well done.

  38. ME says:

Thank you for sharing your wonderful work with us. The binding video was very interesting, especially the way you sew off the corner at an angle. Watching you makes me think I sew too quickly. Do you usually sew fairly slowly or did narrating the video make you slower than usual?

  39. Teri says:

    Very nice.

  40. Patricia McCollum says:

    Just Beautiful!! I love Teddy!!

  41. The quilting on the border of the Teddy quilt is stunning. I also love the echo quilting around the leaves on the blue quilt. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

  43. Your Teddy quilt is amazing.
